In 1981,
the Next Theatre was founded by Harriet Spizziri and Brian Finn
to serve as a home for theater that challenged both its artists
and audiences. Theater that demanded fresh perspectives and
open minds. Theater that asked the question, what’s Next?
In the 27 seasons that followed, plays like The Normal Heart,
Among the Thugs, Omnium Gatherum, and The
Adding Machine: A Chamber Musical cemented the Next as
Chicagoland’s home for socially provocative and artistically
adventurous work.
Stepping
in to take artistic risks where other theaters won’t dare
to tread is hard work, and requires the support of so many individuals,
foundations and artists. During this adventurous 27th
season, as we expand and enhance the work onstage, we are more
dependant than ever on your generosity.
We
ask you to support our work with a generous tax-deductible donation.
As a contributor to the Next, you’re setting the stage
for a future filled with thought-provoking plays in Chicagoland.
