Jennifer Avery
Artistic Director
Has been an Artistic Associate with Next for the past five years and performed in a number of Next productions, including The Love Song of J. Robert Oppenheimer, The Long Christmas Ride Home and most recently, War with the Newts. Jennifer brings a rich experience in arts administration, having served as Development Director and Managing Director for Roadworks Productions, the Director of Education at American Theater Company, and the assistant to the Executive Director of the Harris Music and Dance Theater. As an actor, she has performed at Victory Gardens, Writers Theatre, American Theatre Co., About Face, Roadworks, Collaboraction and Strawdog, where she is an ensemble member. Jennifer also serves as an adjunct professor at DePaul University's Theatre School.

Jon Arndt
Managing Director
Comes to Next Theatre with over 11 years experience in arts administration and 18 years experience in financial administration. Prior to Next Theatre, Jon was Business Manager at Chicago Children’s theatre, and served as Managing Director for Circle Theatre.
Jon’s areas of experience include financial and strategic planning, events planning, fundraising, box office and administrative operations. Jon has worked on and backstage with Chicago Dramatists, Stage Left Theatre, The Bailiwick Repertory, Theatre Entropy, Collaboraction and others. Jon has a BA in Theatre from The Ohio State University and trained at the British American Drama Academy in Oxford, England.

ariaelena Morales
Audience Services Manager
Most recently served as the Development Director of New York’s newly-formed SoHo Playhouse, Inc. She has worked with a variety of theatres in Chicago and the Northeast, including Walnut Street Theatre, InterAct Theatre, Lantern Theater, Blue Man Group Chicago, American Theatre Company, Steppenwolf Theatre Company, and Second City Chicago. She completed her undergraduate degree in History at Princeton University and pursued a year of study in Drama and Theatre Studies at the University of Dublin, Trinity College before pursuing her MFA in Dramaturgy from Columbia University.
